Job Description

Smart Financial Decisions Made Simple

Associate Software Engineer

We're hiring an Associate Innovation Engineer to support our Lead Innovation Engineer in building, maintaining, and evolving our internal platform of LLM-powered tools, used daily by SEO, Content, SEM, and Editorial teams.

This is a hands-on full-stack role. You'll work across Next.js frontends, FastAPI backends, and AWS infrastructure, while getting direct exposure to production AI systems: content extraction pipelines, prompt engineering, web scraping, and data integrations.

This is a strong fit for someone early in their career who wants real-world experience shipping and maintaining LLM applications in production.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development & Maintenance

Build and maintain features across our Next.js frontends and FastAPI backends.

Support the ongoing maintenance of our production tool suite — bug fixes, small enhancements, data validation, and monitoring.

Write clean, testable Python and TypeScript code.

Data Pipelines & Automation

Build and maintain pipelines connecting third-party APIs (SEMrush, ScrapingBee, and similar) to our LLM workflows.

Set up and manage scheduled jobs using AWS ECS Scheduled Tasks, EventBridge, and Redis-based job queues.

Support data validation and quality checks across tools.

AI/LLM Integration

Work with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs to integrate LLM functionality into tools.

Support prompt iteration and testing under the team's guidance.

Build familiarity with AI evaluation ("evals") concepts as the team develops these further.

Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS)

Get hands-on with AWS services used in our stack: ECS, ALB, S3, RDS, EventBridge.

Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of services running in ECS.

Tooling & Ways of Working

Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) as part of the daily workflow.

Collaborate closely with the Lead Innovation Engineer and, at times, with stakeholders from other teams (SEO, Content, etc.) to understand requirements.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Must-Have Technical Skills

1.5+ years of professional experience.

Solid foundation in Python; some exposure to FastAPI or a similar framework (Flask/Django) is a plus.

Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript; exposure to React/Next.js.

Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.

Basic understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous programming concepts.

Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.) as part of daily development.

Good to Have (not required, but a plus)

Any prior exposure to OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.

Basic familiarity with AWS (any service) or any cloud provider.

Exposure to Redis or job queuing/background task concepts (e.g., RQ, Celery, or similar).

Some exposure to AI agents or agentic workflows.

Exposure to web scraping, data pipelines, or automation.

Soft Skills

Curious and eager to learn — this role will expose you to fast-moving areas of AI tooling.

Good communication skills; comfortable asking questions and flagging blockers early.

Organized and able to manage multiple small tasks/tools at once.

Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team with high ownership.

Perks

Remote-first and flexible — work from anywhere in India with global exposure.

Monthly long weekends (every third Friday off).

Generous wellness stipends and parental leave.

A collaborative team where your voice is heard and your work drives real impact.
