1. Introduction & Privacy Commitment

At CampusToCareer (referred to as "the Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), candidate trust is the cornerstone of our operations. Because we publish educational resources, career preparation tools, and curate entry-level jobs, we are fully committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors, candidates, recruiters, and community members.

This Privacy Policy describes in clear, transparent terms what information we collect, how it is processed, when it is stored, how we protect it, and the tools you have to manage your data footprint. We comply with international standards of data safety, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and related national privacy laws.

By using CampusToCareer, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this document, please cease using the platform immediately.

2. Information We Collect

We limit data collection to the absolute minimum necessary to run our application, provide candidate utilities, verify recruiters, and secure the platform. We collect information through three primary pathways:

A. Information You Submit Voluntarily

  • Candidate Account Details: When you sign up for our application tracker or submit resume materials, we collect your name, email address, password hashes, and optional profile metadata (such as skills, college, graduation year, and LinkedIn URL).
  • Recruiter & Corporate Portal Data: When an HR professional creates an account to post jobs, we collect corporate email addresses, company names, billing details, recruiter names, and verification documents.
  • Support Form Submissions: If you use our Contact page or email our support desk, we collect your name, email, subject line, and the text of your message, including any attachments you provide.
  • Interview Experiences: If you voluntarily submit a report about a hiring process, we collect the company name, role title, salary indications, and timeline details. You can opt to publish these reports anonymously, in which case all public identifier links are stripped.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device & Technical Signals: When you browse our pages, our servers automatically log technical metadata such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, operating system version, referring URLs, time spent on pages, and specific features clicked.
  • Navigation Logs: We keep internal performance logs to map how long queries take to load, helping us diagnose database bottleneck points and system disruptions.

3. Cookies, Tracking Technologies, & AdSense Disclosures

CampusToCareer uses cookies—small text files stored on your local device—and similar web storage tokens to support platform features and analyze aggregate traffic.

Critical Advertising Disclosure for Google AdSense: We may partner with third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve contextual and personalized advertisements on our pages. To understand how this impacts your privacy, please review the following rules:

  • Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Google and other third-party networks use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to CampusToCareer or other websites on the internet.
  • DoubleClick DART Cookie: Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Opting Out of Personalization: You can opt out of Google’s personalized advertising settings by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-Out Page.
  • Analytics Cookies: We utilize analytics frameworks (such as Google Analytics) to aggregate anonymous user counts and traffic flow. This data does not contain personally identifiable information (PII) and is used exclusively to refine our search filters and guide topics.

4. How We Process and Use Your Information

We process user data under valid legal bases—primarily to fulfill contractual obligations (providing platform tools), serving our legitimate business interests (security, analytical improvements), or based on your direct consent:

  1. Operating Platform Features: To maintain candidate dashboards, process application tracking records, enable resume downloads, and host recruiter dashboards.
  2. Content Moderation: To audit submitted jobs and verify corporate entities, maintaining the integrity of our listing systems.
  3. Communication & Customer Service: To resolve technical support tickets, answer recruiter questions, and send email verification tokens. We do not use your contact information to send marketing newsletters unless you explicitly opt in.
  4. Security & Fraud Prevention: To prevent cyberattacks, system scraping, account takeovers, and fraudulent job submissions.

5. Third-Party Integrations & Service Providers

We do not sell, lease, or rent candidate personal data to marketing brokers, data aggregators, or external corporate entities. We share information only with trusted third-party providers under strict confidentiality agreements:

  • Hosting Infrastructure: Our platform code and database clusters are hosted on secure, enterprise-grade cloud servers with strict firewall access restrictions.
  • Partner ATS Checker: If you use our integrated resume checker, you are redirecting to our partner system at resumeoptimizer.site. Any data submitted on that portal is governed by the partner's respective privacy guidelines.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if legally required to do so by court orders, government audits, or law enforcement investigations to prevent systemic fraud or platform abuse.

6. Data Retention & System Purging Policy

We believe in strict data minimization and do not keep records indefinitely:

  • Contact Form Messages: Retained for exactly 7 days to resolve the support query, after which all submissions are automatically purged from our active contact database.
  • Candidate Accounts: Retained as long as the account remains active. Accounts that are completely dormant for more than 18 consecutive months are flagged, notified by email, and systematically deleted.
  • Recruiter Accounts: Maintained for transactional, auditing, and tax compliance records for up to 7 years following their last transaction.

7. International Data Transfers & Visitor Safeguards

CampusToCareer operates globally. If you visit our platform from the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, please note that we process and store data in secure cloud server zones that may reside outside your region.

Your GDPR Rights:

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, EU and EEA residents are entitled to the following rights:

  • Right of Access: You can request copy records of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can request corrections to incomplete or inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure (Forgetfulness): You can request complete deletion of your records.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we pause processing your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: You can request your data formatted in a structured, machine-readable JSON structure.

California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of data sharing.

8. Children's Privacy Protections (COPPA Compliance)

CampusToCareer is designed as an educational publishing and career support environment for college students, fresh graduates, and adult job seekers. The platform is not intended for, nor directed at, minors under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal data, we will immediately delete all records from our database clusters. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact our privacy desk on priority.

9. Requesting Data Deletion & Self-Service Tools

We believe in giving users complete control over their digital footprint. If you have created an account on CampusToCareer and wish to delete it along with all related application tracking history:

  1. Send an email from your registered account address to our support desk: campustocarrer@gmail.com.
  2. Set the subject line to "Data Deletion Request".
  3. Our compliance associate will verify the request, execute the purge script across our databases, and send a final confirmation email within 72 hours.

Please note that once deleted, your application tracking records, profile details, and settings are permanently erased and cannot be restored.

10. Privacy Policy Amendments & Compliance Audits

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our database systems, new feature additions, or shifting regulatory requirements. When amendments are made, we will update the "Last Updated" timestamp at the top of the page.

We recommend reviewing this policy periodically to stay informed about how we safeguard candidate information.
