6. AI Features & Third-Party Processing
CampusToCareer provides educational and career prep AI tools, including AI Match Scoring, 7-Day Study Roadmaps, Fresher Reality Checks, Company Cheat-Sheets, Campus AI Agent, and Resume/PDF Parsing.
How AI Prompts and Data Are Handled:
- Data Sent to Third-Party AI Provider: When you use our AI features (AI roadmap, reality check, cheat sheet, AI agent, or job matching), the text you provide—such as your resume or bio text, question messages, target company names, and job roles—is transmitted over secure HTTPS to our third-party AI provider (NVIDIA API running Meta Llama models) solely to generate the response (fit score, interview roadmap, reality check, or coding assistance). For PDF uploads, the file is parsed in-memory on our server to extract text, and returned directly to your browser without server disk storage.
- No Personal Resume or Bio Storage: We do not save or store your personal resume, bio text, or personal prompt questions in our database or in
ai_cache. - Public Generic Caching (
ai_cache): To prevent redundant API calls, only public, non-personal content (such as company interview cheat-sheets and general role pros/cons) is stored in our MongoDBai_cachecollection, keyed strictly by company name or role. No personal user bio, resume text, or user identification is stored inai_cache. - Third-Party Data Retention: The third-party provider's own privacy policy applies to data it receives. Whether NVIDIA or model providers retain transient API request logs or processing data on their end depends entirely on their own corporate privacy policies and terms. We do not make any claims or representations regarding third-party data retention lifecycles.
User Advisory (Sensitive Details): We strongly advise users not to include sensitive personal details (such as phone numbers, residential addresses, government ID numbers like Aadhaar or PAN, or financial details) when pasting resume text or asking questions in AI tools.
7. Data Retention & Purging Policy
We enforce strict data minimization and automated purging schedules:
- Contact Messages: Retained for exactly 7 days in our database before being automatically permanently deleted by MongoDB's TTL (Time-To-Live) index on
expiresAt. - Job Postings: Curated job postings automatically expire and are removed from active display after 14 days to ensure listings stay fresh.
- Client Application Tracking: Saved only in your browser's localStorage; we maintain zero server records of your personal pipeline.
- Third-Party Ad Cookies: Managed directly by Google in accordance with Google's advertising retention timelines.
8. User Rights & Grievance Redressal (DPDP Act 2023)
In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and international data protection principles, users have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information they have provided to us.
