Job Description
Software Engineer - I
Two to three years in, and you have shipped things people actually use. You know Shopify well enough to know where it fights you, and you already have an AI tool in your daily loop — Copilot, Cursor, Claude, whichever. That last one is not a nice-to-have here; it is a stated requirement, because the output we expect assumes it. You will own features end-to-end and review other people's code, including the trainees'.

What you actually work on
Shopify themes in Liquid for Indian D2C brands — 200+ launched, so the patterns are established and you are not guessing.
Payment gateway and Shiprocket integrations, where COD and RTO make the edge cases genuinely interesting.
Flutter and React Native builds when a brand outgrows its mobile site.
Headless Next.js storefronts, and the Shopify apps that sit behind them.
🎯 What Success Looks Like in This Role
Design, develop, and deploy Shopify themes and custom storefront solutions using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Build and integrate Shopify apps, custom APIs, and third-party services.
Contribute to Android and/or iOS application development using Flutter or React Native.
Use AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codeium, Claude, or Tabnine) to accelerate development and improve code quality.
Lead small feature implementations independently and mentor intern and fresher developers.
Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and suggest architectural improvements.
Collaborate with designers and clients to translate requirements into polished, production-ready products.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs across web and app projects.
Stay current with Shopify platform updates, API changes, and emerging development practices.
What we need from you
2–3 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Shopify or web development.
Proficiency in Liquid (Shopify templating), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with Shopify theme customization, Shopify CLI, and the Storefront API.
Working knowledge of at least one backend language: PHP, Python, or Node.js.
Demonstrated use of at least one AI development tool (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codeium, Claude, Windsurf) in a professional workflow — this is a mandatory requirement.
Familiarity with mobile development using Flutter or React Native.
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and third-party integrations.
Proficiency with Git and collaborative version control practices.
Strong debugging, testing, and performance optimization skills.
Good to have
Experience with Shopify Plus and B2B or enterprise-level store builds.
Knowledge of headless commerce architectures (Hydrogen/Oxygen).
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Firebase).
Experience managing or mentoring junior developers.
