The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) organization is responsible for managing relationships with millions of Merchants and Partners around the world that facilitate American Express acceptance and enabling the day-to-day operations of our company’s payment network.
The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Risk Reporting & Analytics team focuses on driving risk-based decisioning and strengthening the control environment through data, reporting, and analytics.
As an Apprentice, you will support the team in developing reporting solutions, performing data analysis, and generating insights related to operational risk and compliance. This role will provide hands-on exposure to risk analytics, reporting automation, and stakeholder collaboration across global teams.

Responsibilities
Support the development and enhancement of MIS reporting and analytics solutions for GMNS risk and compliance metrics
Assist in data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key risk indicators
Work with structured and unstructured data to support identification of potential risk areas and process gaps
Help prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership review
Support root cause analysis by gathering data and assisting in identifying key drivers of risk trends
Assist in tracking risk and compliance metrics to support risk-based decision making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing reporting and analytics initiatives
Contribute to automation and process improvement efforts for reporting workflows leveraging AI tools and advanced automation capabilities.
Support documentation of processes, methodologies, and reporting frameworks
Assist in ad-hoc analysis and projects aligned to improving the control environment
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B. Tech / B.E.), BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science / Information technology.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data and reporting tasks
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Eagerness to learn and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools
Understanding of risk management, compliance, or financial services concepts
Exposure to data visualization or dashboarding tools
Ability to work with large datasets and attention to detail
